RiverRats get ready to set sail
The River Crouch will become a stage this weekend.
In the absence of RIVERfest, the RiverRats are taking to the water to celebrate music in Burnham on Saturday July 5. They will be sailing aboard Maverick, a fishing and work boat owned and piloted by Crouch waterman Harry Lymer.
Pete Crisp (lead guitar), Warren Hallam (vocals) and Paul Lester (drums) make up the band who are so named because of the rat-infested raft they used when they first performed live rock music from the River Crouch in 2000.
Supported by Saint FM, they will be performing pop and rock classics as the Maverick navigates up and down the Burnham waterfront, playing to both local residents and tourists.
Weather permitting they will set sail at around 1pm and play until just after high tide at 3pm.
